Kerri Leigh

Kerri Leigh is a singer-songwriter creating country music from her adopted city home. An accomplished vocalist with a knack for writing catchy melodies, she says, “music to me is everything; it makes everything better” – and she shares that passion with everyone who will listen.

Growing up in Wisconsin, Kerri spent a lot of time at her grandparents’ lakehouse with speakers set up outside playing the likes of Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. Fishing, swimming, or sitting by the campfire, country music was always on – which instilled a fierce love of it in Kerri. “I always knew I was going to pursue a career in music. It’s my passion and what I know in my heart I am meant to do.” After getting into the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (by means of Kerri singing one song over and over for the four-hour drive to her audition, much to the chagrin of her father who drove her), Kerri moved to New York City to study music.

Fast-forward a few years and Kerri has played shows all over – notably, Highline Ballroom in NYC, Margaritaville in Nashville, and House of Blues in Dallas – as well as opened for Laura Bell Bundy, Tyler Farr, and Granger Smith, to name a few. In 2017, Kerri released her debut album, ‘Novocaine’ with co-writer/singer Craig Wilson, best described as country-pop with an edge, and some soul. “Since I can remember, these melodies and lyrics would just come to me,” Kerri says – and that shines through in her music. Everything flows – excellent lyricism, vocal delivery, dynamic variation, and just plain spunk, all woven together in perfect harmony. Novocaine covers pain – “I finally know what they all mean, heart’s been shattered and I can’t breathe” – to love, and everything in between. And that’s only the half of it.

Kerri’s about to release a new single and video – ‘What You Do To Me’ – in early 2019 (and she has a backlog of unreleased material stacked up that she performs in her shows). If you think she’s good on record, just wait until you see her live: Kerri’s a fantastic singer who absolutely oozes charisma. “I love making people feel something. When I’m on stage and get to see the crowd’s reaction, it makes me feel alive.” It’s almost impossible not to feel something from this talented artist. Hustling to make her dream a reality, Kerri’s most certainly worth keeping an ear out for.
